Dymax 431 is a single-component UV/Visible light-curable adhesive designed for high-performance bonding of glass, metals, ceramics, and some engineering plastics. It is ideal for applications requiring optical clarity, impact resistance, and long-term stability.
Key Features:
- Dymax 431 cures rapidly under UV or visible light, achieving a tack-free surface within seconds. With a viscosity of around 6,000 cP, it is easy to apply over large or complex surfaces. The cured adhesive exhibits Shore D70 hardness, tensile strength of approximately 24 MPa, and elongation up to 86%, delivering a strong yet flexible bond.
- The adhesive has a high glass transition temperature (~101 °C), a controlled coefficient of thermal expansion from roughly 97 to 205 µm/m·°C, and exhibits about 3.8% water absorption after 2 hours of boiling. Dymax 431 is solvent-free, RoHS-compliant, and resistant to discoloration over time.
Applications: Widely used for glass-to-metal bonding in lighting fixtures, glass components in devices, optical module enclosures, sensors, and in medical and industrial applications requiring both clarity and durability.
