Laser Welding Heads
A Laser Welding Head is a critical component in any laser welding system. It is responsible for guiding, controlling, and focusing the laser beam precisely onto the weld zone to produce a clean, strong, and highly accurate weld. The welding head plays a decisive role in weld penetration, beam stability, process efficiency, and final weld quality.
Inside a laser welding head is a sophisticated optical system consisting of a collimating lens, focusing lens, protective lens, reflective mirrors, as well as gas channels, sensors, and control modules. This configuration enables the head to maintain a stable beam profile, minimize spatter, reduce thermal distortion, and achieve consistent results across thin, medium, and thick metal materials.
LECI’s laser welding heads are suitable for all major applications—high-speed welding, structural welding, precision welding, and general sheet-metal fabrication across industries such as automotive, electronics, electrical enclosures, metal furniture, and industrial equipment manufacturing.
Each unit is technically validated to ensure seamless integration with existing laser systems and long-term stability in demanding production environments.
With over 13 years of experience in the laser industry, LECI delivers not only equipment but complete end-to-end solutions—from selecting the right welding head, optimizing system performance, to providing professional technical support and maintenance services.
We are committed to supporting customers throughout the entire lifecycle of their laser systems, ensuring reliable operation, rapid response support, and genuine replacement parts for all welding head models.
Laser Welding Heads Structure
Although each laser welding head may differ slightly depending on its design and specialized function, all welding heads share a common architecture built from optical, mechanical, and electronic assemblies. A standard laser welding head is engineered to ensure precise beam focusing, stable shielding gas distribution, and optional wire-feeding capability.
Its main components include:

Basic Structure of a Laser Welding Head
1. Optical Assembly
Collimating Lens: Converts the perging laser beam into a parallel beam before it enters the focusing lens.
Focusing Lens: Concentrates the laser into a small focal spot, creating high energy density for the welding process.
Reflector Lens: Redirects and adjusts the laser beam path within the optical system.
Protective Lenses: Front and secondary protective lenses shield the primary optics from dust, metal spatter, fumes, and debris, ensuring stable beam quality.
2. Beam Reflection & Control Module
Reflecting Seat: Holds and stabilizes the reflector lens at the correct angle.
Galvanometer Motor: Controls the oscillation or beam deflection (used in wobble welding), adjusting the beam’s direction and amplitude.
3. Body & Handle Assembly
Collimating Handle: Houses the collimating optics and secures the optical module during operation.
Insulating Board: Provides electrical insulation and protects the operator from heat and electrical leakage.
Switch Button: Trigger switch used to activate the welding process.
4. Welding Head Assembly
Direct Head: Connects the optical system to the gas and welding interface.
QBH Joint: Standard fiber-laser optical interface compatible with QBH connectors.
Nozzle: Directs the shielding gas and laser beam toward the weld zone, ensuring a stable and clean weld.
Brass Tip (Flat Angle): Specialized nozzle for wire-feeding applications or specific welding requirements.
5. Wire Feeding System
(Applicable only to welding heads with wire-feeding capability)
Wire Guide: Guides the filler wire toward the weld zone.
Wire Guide Tube: Protects the wire during feeding.
Wire Feed Support: Stabilizes and aligns the wire-feeding mechanism.
Connecting Piece: Connects the wire feeder module to the welding head.
6. Temperature Monitoring Module
7. Motor Cover
