The X-Cite Optical Power Measurement System is a specialized measurement solution designed to accurately measure optical power at the specimen level in fluorescence microscopy systems. The system enables users to control, maintain, and reliably reproduce illumination intensity across experiments, while also providing effective support for system setup, calibration, and optical troubleshooting in laboratory environments.
The system utilizes the XP750 sensor, featuring a slim, low-profile design that can be placed directly on the microscope stage. The sensor measures optical power emitted from X-Cite microscope illumination systems as well as other epi-fluorescence light sources, offering high flexibility in practical use. By integrating a wide measurement range into a compact sensor, the system allows users to quickly and accurately acquire critical illumination data.
LECI is the authorized distributor of Excelitas Technologies in Vietnam, supplying genuine Excelitas products to the research, biomedical, diagnostic, and high-tech industrial markets. We provide expert technical consultation, application-specific system configuration, professional installation, operator training, and reliable after-sales support, ensuring efficient, stable, and long-term system operation for our customers.
Wide Measurement Range – Compatible with Multiple Microscope Configurations
The XP750 sensor is calibrated for a wavelength range from 320 nm to 750 nm, making it compatible with a wide variety of commonly used fluorescence filters. With a power measurement range from 5 µW to 500 mW, the system effectively supports both low-intensity and high-intensity illumination applications.
As a result, the system is well suited for use with standard widefield microscopes, confocal microscopes, DSU systems, and other fluorescence microscopy configurations.
Flexible and Convenient Operation
The X-Cite Light Power Measurement System measures illumination directly at the specimen plane, accurately reflecting the actual light energy delivered to the sample. The system is compatible with most epi-fluorescence light sources, including:
Mercury (HBO) lamps
Metal halide lamps
Xenon lamps
Laser sources
LED light sources
The system supports multiple wavelength selections, allowing users to store frequently used wavelengths for fast, repeatable measurements and convenient operation.
High Repeatability – Enabling Quantitative Analysis
By measuring and recording optical power in absolute units (watts), the system enables precise reproduction of illumination conditions for each experiment, even as light sources, light guides, filters, or other optical components change over time.
This capability is critical for:
Reducing post-experiment image processing time
Performing accurate and quantitative fluorescence image comparisons
Building complete, consistent, and scientifically valuable experimental documentation
