The X-Cite XYLIS II Broad Spectrum LED Illumination System is a true arc lamp replacement designed for both routine and advanced fluorescence imaging applications. Delivering exceptional brightness and the broadest white-light LED spectrum available for fluorescence microscopy, XYLIS II outperforms traditional arc lamps and is ideally suited for compound microscopes and stereomicroscopes.
Compared to the original XYLIS, the XYLIS II offers significantly improved performance, including 10 dB quieter operation and increased optical output. By incorporating the patented and award-winning LaserLED Hybrid Drive technology, the system overcomes the traditional LED “green gap,” ensuring uniform spectral coverage without compromising brightness or image quality. Its whisper-quiet operation allows laboratories to fully benefit from LED illumination while maintaining excellent flexibility, performance, and cost efficiency.
The ultra-quiet design makes X-Cite XYLIS II particularly well suited for multi-station FISH laboratories and imaging facilities that require a low-noise environment to support focused research work.
In addition to its high output and broad spectral coverage from DAPI to Cy7, X-Cite XYLIS II offers exceptional installation flexibility. Light is delivered via a liquid light guide, allowing the system to be easily integrated into new imaging platforms or used to retrofit existing microscopes that laboratories have relied on for many years.
X-Cite XYLIS II is available in two UV wavelength options, 365 nm or 385 nm, enabling laboratories to select the configuration that best matches their preferred or existing DAPI filter sets. For stereomicroscope applications, the ability to switch off the UV portion of the spectrum helps preserve sample viability. Each system includes a full range of built-in control options, such as intuitive fingertip control with speedDIAL, hands-free operation via a foot pedal, and USB and TTL inputs for automated and advanced imaging workflows.
